Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

I teach in a public school in Illinois. My classroom is made up of 6th, 7th, and 8th-grade students with disabilities. As we all know funding is very tight for schools. But, somehow we must help these students and ensure that their needs are being met. The pandemic has made it increasingly difficult for students.

We as teachers must try to engage our students with remote learning.

This has become difficult without having up to date technology to use for videos, chats, etc.

My Project

This technology will allow me as a special education teacher to provide my students with engaging lessons. Students will use the Chromebook to take notes during any class. They can also use it to do research and complete projects. The use they will get out of it is limitless.

The crisis that our country is currently in is affecting our students learning a great deal.

Only with quality technology can we provide students with what is essential.

My special education students already have difficulty focusing. So, with remote learning they must have up to date learning that allows for videos, chats, and various other ways to connect with not only their teacher but with others students. This connection will encourage them to join their E-Learning classroom and not only participate but participate to the fullest.
