Remote Learning Classroom

Help me give my students a teacher who is prepared for remote learning. This project will help create a space that I can help my students learn at their greatest potential.

My Students

My school's diverse group of students in Buffalo, NY are some of the hardest working and dedicated kids that I know. They are enthusiastic about learning and enjoy being in the classroom because of the fun learning environment that has been established. I particularly work as a Consultant Teacher in a first-grade inclusion classroom. Donations to this project will help improve my instruction while remote learning.

With the rapid increase of COVID-19 in our area, our school will be moving back to remote instruction.

I would love to have materials to create a classroom in my own home. When we shut down at the beginning of March, it was very difficult to provide instruction to my students without a desk or proper area in my home to do so.

My Project

My students began hybrid learning just last week. With COVID numbers rapidly increasing in our area, there is a very high possibility that schools will be shut down by the end of this week. Please help me provide a remote learning area in my home that will enhance student instruction. Currently, only my classroom at school is set-up for student learning, and little is available to be transported to my home. I would love these items listed below so I can work throughout the day with the materials that I believe will enhance my students' instruction. I will be working down in my basement, so will need plenty of light for my students to see me and the materials I’m holding (the lamp and ring light). A large magnetic whiteboard to easily show math and reading concepts on. This will especially help with showing students how to make letters. A mouse and computer mat to help while I share my screen and show lesson concepts while on Teams meetings. I can flip pages easily by clicking and move my cursor around the shared page more seamlessly. Especially the mouse and computer pad will provide an ease to teaching, making my lessons more successful, engaging, and purposeful. I won’t be fumbling around with glitches or material disorganization because I don’t have the proper materials. In this way, I will have light to show my lesson materials, an easy way to flip between pages with my mouse and computer pad, and a white board to write on during letter formations. Overall these materials will provide my students more learning time, because of the ease of resources I can use while teaching.
