I am a special education teacher in a first grade inclusion classroom (though, all 25 students think they're just lucky enough to have two fabulous teachers)! My students are my life... they are the reason I absolutely LOVE my job. I couldn't see myself doing any other career. Besides gaining an excellent education, many of our kids come to school to feel loved and encouraged. It's not uncommon to overhear motivational conversations in the hallway between a teacher and student. 83% of our students come from low-income homes, and 82% qualify for free/reduced lunches. Our students thrive because they know they're loved. Each and every single staff member treats their students (and other staff members) like family, and we all go that extra mile to make sure our students are given the best opportunities at success!
