My students need a remolded kitchen play set, including a new stove and sink set. The kitchen set I have in my room is probably older than my kindergartners' parents. My students also need dolls.

My Students
Our school serves a very diverse population of students in grades preschool through fifth grade. Our goal is to prepare our students for success in high school and college, and our alumni have gone on to schools such as University of Michigan, Michigan State and Eastern Michigan College.
Since our school is near a big ten university we get a lot of students from China, Japan, Korea and Poland.
These families live in our area for two years and then return home to their native country. For many of my kindergartener's our school is their first taste of the United States.
My Project
The materials and supplies that I am requesting for my students already have a "home." In other words, I know exactly where everything will go. We just need your help in getting everything through our door! I am requesting a new updated kitchen set for my class. The kitchen set I am using now has many missing pieces or broken parts. The stove knobs are missing as is the sink faucet. My 5 year old's favorite play area is the house keeping area, both my boys and girls spend many hours playing there.
Also, I don't have a doll house, dolls or fort for creative, dramatic play.
Role play toys like kitchen sets gives children the opportunity to experience adult life. They help them understand the real world. An understanding of the real world is important for their mental development. Cultivating imaginative play and encouraging an appreciation for cooking and housework, play kitchen sets can be an important educational tool in your child's growth and development.
