Reliable Number Racks for Student Math Success

Help me give my students reliable number racks and math word problem cards that they can use with ease to support their math growth.

My Project

Hands on materials are a crucial part of math in the Kindergarten classroom. In order for students to conceptualize numbers and the math skills they are learning, they need to be able to manipulate real materials.

Every year we make number racks (rekenreks) that fall apart.

Your support will ensure that we have number racks that are reliable and easy to use. Making the number racks can be fun, but usually there are beads rolling around the classroom, students waiting for my help for ages while I help the ten kids who raised their hand before them, and frustration over the activity getting drawn out so long. In the days following, we are constantly putting new tape on them and adding lost beads that have inevitably fallen off.

Receiving these number racks would ensure that students for the years to come have number racks to use whenever they need, and they won't have to worry about beads falling off or tape coming off. Please consider supporting my active kindergarten classroom!
