My Project

First Graders love listening to a great read-aloud. The quality of children's books in recent years has been remarkable and ever-changing. The best time of our day is when we all come together on the rug to listen, talk, and share feelings about a story. I hope that the classroom resources I have requested will help build confidence and create an inclusive classroom community.

The book titles that I have selected will foster meaningful connections and create a safe space for conversations about diversity and inclusion.

They will also provide opportunities for my students to see themselves represented in these diverse books. The titles I have selected are socially and emotionally rich with stories that reflect different perspectives and experiences.
