My students need these items to encourage movement while learning in a safe and effective way. The Zenergy Ball Chairs are stable, yet they allow the students the opportunity to bounce to exert their energy!

Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

What makes my students special? They are unique, creative, enthusiastic, caring, loving....and these are just a few adjectives that describe them. Every day they walk into my classroom not only wanting to learn but also wanting to know that they matter. We face many challenges in our classroom since it is a regular education classroom with full-time inclusion students. It is my goal to provide an environment where all of my students feel that they belong.

I remind my students every day that they are important and that they are loved.

This simple statement goes a long way with my students. We are a Title I school and many of my students are at-risk students for academic failure and a high percentage are from low-income families. They deserve every opportunity that I can provide for them in order to have academic success.

My Project

Flexible seating allows my students to take ownership of the learning space within our classroom. They get to choose their type of seating at the start of the school day and can even change their seating throughout the day based on their needs. My students appreciate being given a choice.

By being able to release their energy without leaving the classroom, my students remain more focused and are more productive.

Children and adults alike need to move throughout the day in order to stay focused and flexible seating gives my students this opportunity. The Zenergy Ball Chairs support the need for movement while promoting better posture and balance. The Balance Disks improve student behaviors by helping them to settle and calm down. In doing so the disk increases students' focus and concentration. Bean bag chairs not only provide versatility for classroom use, but they are also an enticing and cozy place for students to work. Flexible Seating is student-centered and research-based. It truly is all about giving the students a space where they can reach their highest potential!
