Relaxin' and Learning

My students need an an area that is flexible for them to read and discover. By providing them with two chairs, a carpet, and a bookshelf. They can have an area to relax and learn.

Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

My students come to school energetic and ready to learn every single day. They enjoy movement and having hands on activities that keep them engaged in the classroom. For most it is hard for them to stay in their seats, and more times than not, they seem to get restless after being in eight periods each day. Providing a comfortable flexible learning environment will lead to more student engagement, which also means more student success. I can't wait to see what all they can do with more options within the classroom!

My Project

Some of the seating options that will be provided with this project are two flexible chairs, a rug, and a bookshelf.

All of these options will give my students the opportunity to sit comfortably and move around while they are learning.

The rug along with some pillows (that we will make in class) will be used with allow students to comfortably sit on the floor. The chairs will allow students to sit and read books while being comfortable.

This project would significantly help my students stay engaged in our learning throughout the day. I want them to feel comfortable and at home in our classroom. I cannot wait to see all of the things we can do with flexible seating!
