Relax. Release. Regulate.

Help me give my students a calming room that provides a quiet, comfortable space to reset and regulate when they're sad, anxious, angry, etc. Low lighting, soft seating and tactile items provide a positive atmosphere for mental health.

My Project

Guidance lessons are designed to be preventative in nature, teaching students skills they need to grow and develop in the academic, career, and personal/social arenas. My students are constantly learning and growing. These lessons are provided in this classroom setting and reach many students at once.

The calming space will help my students with their self-regulation, providing a safe space for them to implement learned techniques.

A calm room is a designated space intentionally structured to help students take a break, defuse anger, and re-center outside of the classroom. It can be used for prevention to deescalate emotions or anxiety before one gets too overwhelmed.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
