My students need engaging and educational activities for indoor recess. In my cart, you'll find board games, reproducible fun and educational workbooks, a miniature cornhole set, and miniature table pool game.
As a second year elementary teacher, I have been given the privilege to be apart of 21 bright fifth grader's everyday. Teaching is truly a passion, but teaching these little leaders of tomorrow is an honor. I am beginning my second year teaching fifth grade and getting to know my new students has been a treat everyday. The first few weeks, we have been getting back into the rhythm of rules, procedures and learning -- along with adjusting to three new curriculum. This can be exciting but overwhelming for my students. I can tell these busy bodies are truly hard workers and deserve to be rewarded. Although the items I am requesting are not Common Core aligned or the newest technology, students are still kids and deserve time to "play." Like one of my favorite quotes, "Don't Forget To Play." Thanks for helping make a difference to my amazing little learners.
My Project
The items I have requested are going to the most creative, imaginative and active learners. After a busy morning of learning in my classroom, my students are eager to get outside and burn some energy. When days call for rain and students are asked to stay inside for recess -- their energy needs an outlet. As a second year teacher, I am still going to garage sales, thrift stores, clearance sections, etc. to collect board games, coloring books, and activities for my students while playing indoors. Today, I am kindly asking you to make a difference and help my hard workers enjoy their free time a little more when the playground is not an option. The Scrabble board games, reproducible workbook pages, mini corn hole set and mini table pool set are all requested items from my students that they have shared they would enjoy in their free time. They have had fun during indoor recess playing with these type of materials in previous grades and suggested we add those to our classroom selection. I want to create a playful and active environment for indoor recess, which my students have much earned in their day's work. With the materials requested, we can make this dream become a reality and make those rainy days a little less gloomy!
