Refrigerator Needed for Culinary Arts Program

My culinary arts students need a new refrigerator/freezer for their kitchen.

I work at a special education school, servicing emotionally disturbed, learning disabled, and other special education classified students. Our 175 students come from low socioeconomic backgrounds. Over 95% of the student body is eligible for free lunch and over 90% receive public assistance. The school’s ethnicity is as follows: 60% Hispanic, 30% African American, 8% Caucasian, and 2% Asian. These factors come together and place our children at a huge disadvantage, but we are committed to providing these students with a rigorous academic and therapeutic program. I teach a Culinary Arts Program for students who are earning a special education diploma. This program allows students to gain practical vocational skills before moving on from their high school experience. Upon completion of the program, students are placed in internships throughout the county, and often receive offers of employment at the end. Due to slim resources, my students are utilizing outdated and faulty equipment. We are seeking funding for a new refrigerator/freezer, which will be utilized to keep ingredients and masterful culinary creations fresh.
