Help me give my students more knowledge of history, more access to novels they can see themselves in, and more graphic novels.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are eager to experience new books and new experiences, but for the most part do not have books at home. Since I have 90-plus kids checking out books from my classroom library, a lot of books are getting worn out. We need new books, the latest books in series we already own, and more graphic novels to draw in those reluctant readers.
Reading is the best way I can teach these kids how to make a life they love.
I want them to be invested in their reading lives not only for the joy of meeting new people and new places, even when travel is not an option, but also for the choices it will give them going forward.
My school is 91% low income with free or reduced lunch and 90% Hispanic.
My Project
My goal is to refresh and replenish my classroom library. I selected a number of historical informational books; my students need access to history at a level they can understand it. We need the additional books in some series students are already invested in--so I have selected the books we are missing from several series, Lunch Lady and Dragonbreath for example! Most of my other selections are fiction either by diverse authors or about diverse characters.
I want my students to be able to see themselves in books.
I want to fill this room with diverse literature and choices for all. I want my students to be able to find books at any reading level, and about people of all races and cultures.
More than three‑quarters of students from low‑income households
