My goal is to refresh and replenish my classroom library. I selected a number of historical informational books; my students need access to history at a level they can understand it. We need the additional books in some series students are already invested in--so I have selected the books we are missing from several series, Lunch Lady and Dragonbreath for example! Most of my other selections are fiction either by diverse authors or about diverse characters. I want my students to be able to see themselves in books. I want to fill this room with diverse literature and choices for all. I want my students to be able to find books at any reading level, and about people of all races and cultures.
