Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Project

We are looking to put items into our Anti-Racism Class and also introduce new book materials into our students. We have a very diverse building and we are steadily add new books.

We are looking to add contemporary writers for 2024 and beyond while finding writers and materials that promote strong student voice.

We are looking to help grow student agency and advocacy through the lens of anti-racism. There are car packs.

I have been so lucky to find myself teaching, I am even more lucky to do it at Andersen. With the diversity of the students, I feel well rounded and appreciated. I hope for my students that same energy.
