Supplies from this project have allowed us to be more organized, connected, and intentional. \r\n\r\nIn the pictures, you will see 6th grade students in Health class investigating the categories of health: physical, mental, emotional, and social in a sort activity. Students were given 30 different scenarios, and then discussed as a small group which category of health was being impacted. Supplies from this project made this collaborative learning possible, and the resources will continue to be able to be used in the years to come. \r\n\r\nThank you for helping make classroom activities sustainable and meaningful. A few students went off script and created their own artwork using the numbers and colors as inspirations. They weren't just learning about a critical issue in our community from a textbook—they were thrilled to realize they had the tangible resources to actually do something about it. They spent the day full of energy, carefully assembling the kits and taking immense pride in ensuring a high-quality variety of hygiene goods would reach those who need them most.\r\n\r\nBecause of your generosity, our donors got a little peek into the incredible empathy our students possess. As a next step, students will be working on reflection presentations to analyze the impact of this indirect service project. We had twenty students along with 3 staff members walk from the school to the Greenway. With the garbage bags, pickers, and ponchos -- it almost looked like rain for the beginning!! -- they were able to walk a mile's worth of greenway to clean up.
