First grade is so much fun! I want to be sure my students have all the materials and fun seating they need to have a wonderful school year. We are learning so much, building social relationships, and loving school!
My students are eager learners!
They are excited about school and all that we have to offer them. They are little, just six and seven years old, but the daily cognitive and social demands are higher than ever. I want to give my students every opportunity to succeed. I just need the right "tools!”
My Project
First grade is a critical year of learning for students every year, but so much more so this year. We are in a whole new game of teaching and learning after COVID. Thankfully, we are back in the classroom this year, but the variety of academic ability levels is much larger this year. I am doing everything I can to support and encourage my kids to build their school stamina and persevere though challenging tasks.
My students are working so hard on their reading skills and modeling positive classroom behaviors!
I want them to be rewarded for their hard work.
Each week I test the students on their sight words. Every time a child can read a word, they will receive a paper sight word dollar bill. Once they save up $10 in sight word dollars, they will be able to shop for an item from our sight word classroom store. I implement our class "Sight Word Money Store" a little over a to months ago and we have had great success...so much that we need to refill our prizes a second time! The small squishes, keychains, and fun pencils are so popular right now, I know my students will work hard to earn one! Thank you so much for your consideration!
