Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Our current class management system is Class Dojo, where students earn points for successfully completing assignments, participating in class, etc. I would like to use these points as Dojo Bucks in order for students to shop at our class café.
Many of my students are hungry throughout the school day.
My students need healthy snacks, such as granola bars, chips, and Goldfish crackers. This way, they can eat healthy foods that will improve their alertness in class and help feed their hungry drive to learn. Many of my students come from low-income households, where their guaranteed meals will come from school. A grand majority of them do not have breakfast or skip school lunch if they do not like the items on the menu. Allowing students to use their reward dollars to shop for snacks and treats will empower them to make smart choices.
