This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

This project is for our woodwind section in the high school band. We have beginning, intermediate, and advanced students who are learning to play instruments that need reeds. We are hoping to add oboe and bassoon to our band, and we got the instruments. Now, we just need the reeds. Our clarinet and saxophone sections are also growing, and the kids sound really good with new reeds!

This project will provide single reeds for our clarinet and saxophone players and double reeds for our oboe and bassoon students.

The clarinet section also includes bass clarinet which needs big reeds like the bari and tenor saxophone. The big reeds and double reeds are much more expensive, so in addition to helping the kids learn, this project will help more people play instruments without worrying about the cost.

Thanks for making woodwind playing accessible to our kids!
