This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

As a high school music technology teacher, I am passionate about providing my students with hands-on learning experiences that blend creativity and technology. Our class is made up of 14 talented students, mostly seniors, with a few juniors, all working hard to earn their STEM credit through innovative projects.

This year, we are taking on exciting challenges such as recording audiobooks for kindergarten classrooms, scoring short films, creating music for live performances, and even launching our own podcasts.

However, we face a significant hurdle: our limited equipment.

This year, we have 14 students in our classroom, however, the class is open to all students at Kinsella! So year after year, it will benefit at least 85% of of our student body.

Currently, we have only two recording stations equipped with microphones, which greatly limits the students' ability to work independently and efficiently. With a class of this size and such a variety of projects, we need more access to recording equipment. Unfortunately, we receive no funding for class materials, and everything we currently use has been generously donated.

By funding this project, you will help us create two additional recording stations. This would double the number of students who can work simultaneously, ensuring that everyone has the opportunity to fully engage with their projects. With more equipment, students will be able to produce high-quality recordings, collaborate more effectively, and have the tools they need to be successful in this class and beyond.

Your support will directly enhance their learning experience by making the equipment accessible to all students, allowing them to explore the world of sound design, audio engineering, and digital creativity more deeply.
