My Students

My school is a special place. We are fortunate to have various backgrounds of race, gender, and heritage attending our school. We maintain a long history of academic success for it's children due to a dedicated staff, our community stakeholders and a close relationship with families of the children we serve.

Students make a difference in our school.

They study to the best of their ability and prepare wisely for their future. We promote that students think about career goals and remain focused on them, as to further understand the importance of education. A student’s role in education is to be an active participant, rather than a passive participant.

My Project

Incorporating urban and electronic music has done a great deal to capture the attention of my students. Now that I have their attention, it is time to start immersing them into the science and technology behind today's music.

The ability to record ourselves and manipulate the audio with technology will foster the incorporation of STEM concepts in our lessons.

Having a computer, audio recording equipment, and a midi controller will allow us to work with manipulating our sounds and create unique music projects. We will be working with math when discussing rhythm, reading, and literacy with lyrics, and recording it to be manipulated with software allows us to explore the science behind sound.

Through the use of STEM integration, pop music, and technology I will be able to introduce many music theory concepts via robust and multifaceted lessons.
