My Project

I need to make new songbooks for my students to use as they learn to play recorders. Due to my school district's re-organization I have moved to an elementary school that has not had music since 2019. I was able to take all my instruments and materials, but some materials were outdated, or just too worn to take. My folders of recorder songs were among those things.

My third and fourth grade students have just begun a 9 week unit on recorders, and they are very excited!

The classes are fairly large (30-37 students each) though, and it is difficult to read the music when it is projected onto the screen. Using individual binders with color-coded paper for the different song levels will help my students to better see and follow the music I am teaching them to read and play.

An added benefit is that I will have a few "loaner" binders which students can check out overnight if they want to practice at home, or show their parents what they are learning.
