Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

This project was created for my swim team. This is an opportunity for me to recognize their accomplishments in the pool after every swim meet.

These kids work hard every day and deserve a little recognition here and there.

Swimming is an individual sport where dropping half a second is huge! The Gold Swimming Caps are going to be given as a reward for the swimmer who dropped time in their events and who showed Viking P.R.I.D.E. Participation, Responsibility, Integrity, Determination, and Empathy. Our school colors are Green and Gold and Gold is usually the standout color for those who achieve great things. I want these kids to feel like they have achieved something and be an encouragement to others. The Gold Cap will be an encouragement for others and will give them a goal to strive for. The stickers are also added to this project for anyone who drops time in an event.

These positive reinforcement economies are meant to give them something to reach for and to act as a piece of encouragement to swim hard during practice, during meets, and just have good sportsmanship in this amazing sport we call swimming.
