This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Eighty five percent of the students in my district register as being in a low socioeconomic family. We are a small but mighty district. Our students are members of single parent households. We have a large population of ELL students on our campus. Less than fifty percent of the students I teach this year passed their state assessment from last year. To top all this off Hurricane Harvey came and devastatingly wrecked the community my students live in. I want to give them an innovative education this year. So I'm asking for your help.

My Project

Since my students were impacted by Hurricane Harvey I wanted to remove the stress of school supplies for this semester. Students will be able to use the supplies to complete their interactive notebook, take notes, and read new books. This year we are allowing students to choose a novel to read so I wanted to offer them new books for the classroom. It also helps when their notes are colored coded so the copy paper helps to organize their notes . I also have a students who need notes on color paper to see word better.

I want my students to focus on learning when they arrive back to school not what supplies they are missing because of the hurricane.

These are only a few supplies but they will make a world of difference.
