I am a kindergarten teacher which hosts a diverse group of learners.
My hope for this school year is to create a classroom environment where all learners have a point of entry and feel safe as they explore, learn, and grow.
The ongoing pandemic has presented many challenges. A lot of teachers are recreating their classrooms to fit into Covid guidelines. This of course costs more money than allotted through the teacher’s choice. I am struggling to provide the extra things that help my classroom to run smoothly. Please consider partnering with me and my students.
My Project
Teaching during an ongoing pandemic is a task like no other! As many teachers fight to recover what was lost during the lockdown, play will be a very important component in achieving that goal.
Studies have shown that children learn best through play.
In a classroom with a group of diverse learners, the play dough and the play dough manipulatives along with the alphabet mats from Lakeshore Learning will allow entry to some of my students who have not yet reached their grade level goals and will serve as a great starting point for my multi language learner students.
In addition, many classrooms now lack basic office supplies to build a child-friendly classroom environment. The assorted gel pens will be used to encourage children as they begin writing. The lamination pouches and tape will help me to label toy bins and book bins in a way that draws the children in.
Please consider partnering with me to give my students a learning environment full of joy and excitement.
