Help me give my students the opportunity to learn and create using Legos, real world activities like the cash register and the ATM. The sensory items will help my students take time to prevent unnecessary agitation.
My students are 18-22-year-old young adults with a variety of intellectual, physical, and sensory impairments in our district's Transition Program. My students are focusing their time in school on life skills and job training. We work with each student individually to help them with their future goals and life plans.
My Project
The LEGO bricks will be used for my student to create, explore and improve their fine motor skills through play. Using the sensory items will help many students prevent unnecessary agitation and help keep them calm while learning. Providing exercise balls for students to sit on will help strengthen their core muscle for them to sit for longer periods of time.
Having a cash register and ATM, will provide my students the opportunity to experience and practice real world skills and help them function in the community and among their peers.
