This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My middle school students are incredibly passionate, driven and motivated individuals. They work hard and I have seen many of them overcome obstacles I could not have even imagined at their age.

My students are 92% students of color and 90% live in low income households.

They are often victims of circumstance and deserve much more than they are given.

In my science classroom, I work hard to give them engaging lessons that help them learn about real world experiences and prepare them for success in High School and beyond.

My Project

The Next Generation Science Standards are all about giving students hands on experience with science. We want our students to see real data, understand relationships and experience phenomena. My students are incredibly passionate learners but the resources in our low income school doesn't always allow them to experience hands on science. Experiments often require equipment, supplies and materials that we do not have.

Help my students experience real science, the way they might in a lab!

We will use these dynamics carts and photogate timers to explore the incredible world of physics, including some of the phenomena they experience every day! These materials will allow students to gather and analyze real data, practice their graphing skills and integrate mathematics into science.
