Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My classroom encompases students from so many diverse backgrounds, many of which have a life more difficult than most of us can even imagine.
No matter what they are faced with at home, or at school, my students defy the odds every single day!
They give their all every single day!
My students inspire me to be the best teacher I can possibly be, to help them Achieve, and it is my job to provide them with the tools they need to be successful.
My Project
Teaching science is my favorite time of the day! The students love learning about all the interesting science concepts that are introduced in third grade.
This project will provide my classroom with real life specimens that the students can use during our science lessons!
The students will dissect owl pellets to sort and observe real fur, bones, teeth, and animal shells. Additionally, the butterfly larevae will serve as an example of the life cycle.
Because the majority of the students in my class come from low income households, this will be a very unique and exciting opportunity for them to have a special connection with animals, and with science.
