Our school is a rural school, comprised of 85% of students who recieve free or reduced price lunch. We have a very diverse population, consisting of 48% Hispanic students, 20% Black, 18% White, 3% Hawaiian/Pacific Islander, and 1% Asian and Native American. My classroom in itself resembles that of the diversity of the school, it is composed of students from many different backgrounds, who are all very unique. One thing my students all have in common is that regardless of any obstacles they may encounter, they all have the grit, determination, and perseverance they need to be successful. As a teacher, my goal is to provide a safe and effective learning environment that meets the needs of all my students. I strive to ensure all my students will have the skills and knowledge they need to be successful not just for the next school year, but also for the rest of their educational and professional careers.
