My Students

Our fourth grade students are a diverse bunch with one common goal: to strive to be the very best they can be and respect one another at the same time.

We live each day to uphold our values of responsibility, empowerment, aspiration, citizenship and honesty (REACH).

Our students are often times seen reaching out to our community whether that's around the classroom or around their neighborhood. They are always striving to reach up and aspiring to be the best they can be. Lastly, they grow tremendously every year partly due the various goals they set for themselves and achieve.

My Project

Every year fourth graders study adaptations of animals in our English Language Arts classes but some of the animals seem so far removed, such as the mimic octopus; it's hard for students to really understand animal adaptations.

Our field trip to the aquarium will provide up close and personal experiences to observe the adaptations animals have.

Students will experience a self-guided tour as well as a classroom program by expert Aquarium educators. This will not only provide a memorable experience but students will also be able to use their knowledge to create outstanding narrative pieces for the end of unit assessment.
