Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My school is an International Spanish Academy with many students coming from diverse backgrounds. Our students are amazing kids who come to school each day eager to learn. Our primary students are kind and smart and love any opportunity to learn even though some of them are learning virtually.
Many of our students come from low income families whose first language is not English.
We are a Title I school with the majority of our students receiving free or reduced price lunch.
My Project
With half of our students learning at home with distance learning, we are always trying to make them feel connected to the teacher and the students who are in the classroom.
Our students who attend class in-person need headphones so that they can be successful in a quiet environment while the teacher works with students who are attending virtually.
Our students are provided with laptops by our district but need to provide their own headphones. Your donation will provide headphones for our primary students so that they can learn without distractions.
Our students also need disposable gloves to wear while finding books for independent reading in the Media Center. Your donation will also allow us to supply dry erase markers for students in school and at home as well as markers and chart paper for teachers.
