Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students come from a very low-income area in Springfield, MA. Our school is a Level 3 school in need of further resources regularly. I teach an abundance of ELL students who need very hands-on language experiences. All students receive free lunch and breakfast each day. Despite many hardships, students come eager to learn and grow each day. I would like to give them the tools they need to succeed every day. With such diverse backgrounds, a classroom is a place where all of my students can feel at home.

My Project

Every fall my students are excited to see their new supplies for the year! This year will be very different in the classroom, but I still want my students to get new supplies to make them feel at home. While supplies will not be shared, each student will get individual pouches, writing supplies, scissors, glue, folders, notebooks, etc. as usual.

These supplies will help us start on the positive note that we all need!

My students will be happy to see that they have their own supplies and I will be able to display our learning with the chart paper and markers.
