Do you realize that children have their own theories of how the world works? Before we give them the "facts", a child's imagination allows them to assign meaning to life. As teachers, we need to nurture this creativity and partner it with fact and foundational skills, to produce students who think creatively to find unique answers to common questions.
I have a diverse groups of students, they speak many different languages and come from low-income homes, and they all have unique ideas of how the world works.
These varying points of views create lively classroom experiences, in whole groups and small groups.
My students love to be engaged. They are eager to try things for themselves. As we prepare for the new school year, we are in need of supplies that will allow for interactive, partnered and independent practice of focus skills.
We have all experienced the magical disappearing pencil...shall I say more. But dry erase markers are a gold mine in my classroom. From partnered and independent centers, to interactive whole group activities on their individual dry erase boards, dry erase markers are have endless possibilities to make learning fun!
These materials will promote group work and creative, interactive learning.
Scissors, once again, provides hands-on engagement into learning projects, from sorting nouns, to S.T.E.A.M. activities. The pouches will provide organized, convenient desk storage of classroom reading books. Students will select books from our classroom library and restock regularly to keep books on-hand for silent reading. UNO cards are a great brain-break and strategic learning activity...and their just plain fun!
These materials read like an ordinary list of the usual classroom materials, but they are actually magic wands when put in the hands of a student ready to learn.
