My sixth graders work hard to progress in reading, writing, and history. They are engaged with hands-on learning to supplement each new unit with art and enriching activities to make the concepts come alive. Our classroom has a travel theme to explore ancient civilizations.
These books and materials will encourage them to read engaging books, supplement classroom activities and engage them in the world outside our classroom walls.
Our classroom library will benefit from these student-recommended books, such as the Humphrey series and Lily to the Rescue books, which boost their reading comprehension and love of reading. In history, clay tools will be used to practice ancient writing such as cuneiform and hieroglyphics. The stress balls are prizes to reward them for their achievements.
We encourage each student to give their best effort and challenge themselves. These items will boost their effort and willingness to go above and beyond. This project will contribute to their academic growth, confidence, and love of learning.
