My high school students are live just a few miles from a Department of Defense Military Production Arsenal with a constant threat of "war" and military deployment, my students are accustomed to living without a parent during deployments.
Most of the sophomore students in my class are eager to learn and become better students, however, the realization that active duty, guardsmen and reservists are always on "stand by" is a real concern, rather than homework, pencils and tests.
These students deserve the best that we can give them, many of them have a parent giving their best to our nation.
My biology students are in desperate need of a printer in order to complete their graphs, data collection, and research projects. A classroom printer will save time, money and frustration, it will keep my students in the classroom and give them the freedom to continue working instead of worrying over finding a place to print, paying for a copy or handwriting research papers.
Currently, my students struggle with finding a place to print work, must leave class to check into the library to print, or pay for printed copies at a business across town.
