My Project

In our elementary music classroom, every student deserves the opportunity to make music. Recorders are more than just a first instrument. They open the door to building a strong foundation in music literacy, rhythm, melody, and creative expression. As students learn to play, they develop fine motor skills, sharpen their listening, and build concentration, all while experiencing the joy of making music together. This hands-on approach deepens their understanding of musical concepts that carry over into singing, playing other instruments, and even strengthening skills in subjects like math and reading.

Our goal is to use recorders to create an engaging, inclusive, and empowering musical experience.

Students will learn to produce clear tones, read musical notation, and perform with confidence. These skills will come together in class lessons and culminate in an end of year performance, giving students a meaningful opportunity to showcase their growth and take pride in their accomplishments as musicians.

My students are curious, resilient, and full of enthusiasm. They come from diverse backgrounds and bring unique perspectives to our classroom. They uplift one another, celebrate successes, and face challenges with determination. Music serves as a universal language that brings our school community together.

Some of the recorders we are requesting are adaptive, ensuring that all students, regardless of ability, can fully participate. These specially designed instruments remove barriers, allowing every child to create music and experience the same sense of achievement as their peers. With these tools, our classroom becomes a space where every student belongs in the music-making process.

By providing these instruments, you are giving students more than just recorders. You are giving them confidence, creativity, and the opportunity to discover a lifelong love of music.
