Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

All students are in a STEAM school. We are encouraging them in every way to become future scientists, technologists, engineers, artists, and mathematicians.

Our school is not only a STEAM (science, engineering, arts, math, and technology) school, but we are also a Title I school in southern Arizona.

Ninety-nine percent of our students receive free lunch and more than 1/2 of the students are English Language Learners (ELL) including refugees from Africa, Asia, Mexico, and the Middle East. Most students are in low-income housing, living in neighborhood apartments and trailer parks. Most of our parents are working very hard to provide for their children and get them to school. That being said, most students are eager to come to school to learn.

My Project

My students need to be able to explore, communicate, write, draw, create, learn, fail, persevere, prevail, and learn stamina through everyday lessons with materials that are needed.

We are a STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics) and Title I School.

In this project, students are learning to be organized and develop good habits such as turning in assignments in a timely manner. Both of these skills are vital in preparing for all further education.

Students will be using these folders to practice skills at home in science, technology, engineering, art, and math, in order to not only further their education in all areas, but also be able to prepare themselves in organization for college readiness.
