This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
Our school is of high poverty. The students receive free and reduced breakfasts/lunches each day. The faculty, staff, and parents in the community do as much as they can for the students and their education. We offer free clubs, tutoring, and sports after school for students who may not have the opportunity to pay for a recreational activity.
Having equipment for middle schoolers would provide an enhanced learning experience of practice!
These scholars deserve to actively prepare for competition and can only do so with at least minimal equipment. These scholars have also actively invested in their talent and craft by setting goals and tracking their progress. It would mean a lot to have someone invest in their talent.
My Project
Having these items will not only prepare my students to compete alongside with their peers but also provide self-confidence. Using similar equipment will promote physical endurance to be successful during meets.
Having hurdles will provide athletes with actual experience that can be taken to the track and prepare them to compete among their peers.
It is essential that athletes wear warm clothing especially with the ongoing weather changes to ensure their muscles are warm and prepared for events. This will also have athletes presented as a team when wearing the same clothing. We hope to shoot for the stars and land on the moon!
