Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
In my second grade class, I've got kickball stars, Hello Kitty collectors, world travelers, and Junie B. Jones lovers. My students come from all types of diverse backgrounds and we love celebrating everyone for who they are. We also love to challenge ourselves in new and innovative ways!
They really enjoy new ways of thinking and learning and always want more, more, more!
My students are part of a math and science magnet school for gifted students. They all genuinely love to learn and push themselves to do their best.
My Project
I love showing my students different mediums and art projects throughout the year. We've made painted paper forests, crayon resist dragonflies, and asymmetrical hearts with tertiary colors just to name a few. What we haven't done yet is paint in the dark!
Through different mediums, my artists will be able to experiment to see how different materials glow differently and how that affects their artwork.
Using blacklights, I want students to see how their art can glow! With the variety of neon supplies, we will be able to create a vast array of different art projects ranging from painted clay sculptures to fluorescent animals! We can't wait to experiment with these new materials and show you what we've created!
