Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
In today's classrooms, we work digitally for an extended period of time. Unfortunately, students forget to charge their devices needed to succeed in everyday class activities. Outlets can only be found on the areas away from the students' desks which means students have to move to the back of the classroom when they need to charge. With the power cords, I will be able to provide outlets for every student in different parts of the classroom. It will allow students to stay in the comfort of their seats and work with their peers. It also helps save time when transitioning to computer activities.
This project will also help create a space that will allow students to feel welcomed and safe.
Unfortunately this school year we were not able to get supplies. Calculators in a math class are needed in everyday activities. In my classroom I also enjoy making math fun. Some games we play like grudge ball and zonk require buzzers and ping pong balls. These materials are used within groups to determine the points received for every question.
My goal for this project is for students to see a piece of themselves in our classroom. Every student in my classroom is special in their own way, bringing a different aspect to the classroom that helps build our community. This project will help optimize student learning by designing a space that promotes enjoyment.
