Ready for Robots: Using Botley to Code in Kindergarten

My students need a Botley The Coding Robot pack, so they can be introduced to computer coding in an age appropriate and interactive way.

My Students

Students in my kindergarten classroom come to school excited about learning. Many of my students come from low-income families, and all the students at my school receive free lunch. This background can mean that students’ families can not afford to purchase needed school supplies.

My students deserve to receive the best education possible, so they are able to succeed in school and in life.

These boys and girls have such awesome attitudes, and they try their best every day!

My Project

My students love technology and computers. They also learn best through hands-on activities. One of the goals that I have for my students is for them to become skilled in the area of technology. Their futures depend on being able to perform technology-related tasks, such as coding.

I am requesting one Botley The Coding Robot & Action Accessory Pack, so my students can be introduced to coding, while also being required to use teamwork and to make decisions together.

Once students are proficient at using Botley, they will be allowed to use it, during our daily choice time. During choice time, students are allowed to choose what they want to do from a variety of activities. One of the main goals of choice time is for my students to work on their communication, problem solving and interpersonal skills. They will need to work together, share, and use problem solving, since we will only have one robot. This will be an excellent way to integrate a STEM activity into my kindergarten classroom.
