My Project

Recess is one of the most important parts of the school day. It gives students a chance to move, play, socialize, reset, and return to the classroom ready to learn. But a successful recess takes more than simply opening the doors and heading outside.

This project is designed to help us be truly ready for recess.

I have included the supplies that students and teachers need to make our time outside safer, more comfortable, and easier to manage. A wagon will help us transport everything we need outside each day. Teacher whistles will make it easier to communicate across a busy playground, and a chair will provide a designated place for the supervising teacher to monitor students.

Because outdoor temperatures can quickly become uncomfortable, I have also included a fan to help students cool down when they become overheated. First-aid supplies will allow us to respond quickly to the inevitable scraped knees, small cuts, and other minor playground injuries.

These items may seem simple, but together they create a recess environment where teachers can spend less time searching for supplies or solving logistical problems and more time making sure students are safe, active, and enjoying their break.

Recess should be a time when students can run, laugh, build friendships, and simply be kids. With your support, we can create an outdoor routine that is prepared for the bumps, heat, forgotten necessities, and unexpected moments that come with an energetic group of fifth graders.

Thank you for helping us make every recess safer, smoother, and a whole lot more fun!
