Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Do you remember those days when in elementary you felt like laying down for five minutes to recharge! I would like to set up classroom in a way that is inviting and safe for young students to learn in.

I teach in a school where the typical classroom is no where near to be found.

For instance, we do not have any student desks because we feel that children should be able to seat in a comfortable area to learn. Therefore, most of the time students seat or lie down on the rug and those few that prefer a chair will seat at a table.

My Project

Therefore, I would like to add to the excitement of reading a book or learning a new math concept by having a couple of bean bags to seat. In addition, for those days when kids are feeling a little down, they can lie down on a mat in the classroom rather then going to the office.

I feel this is very important because children should feel comfortable in their environment to have an effective learning experience throughout the year.
