Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I teach in a low-income environment where the school has about 500 students total. However, my students are knowledgeable on my topics and love to learn about new things. With technology becoming the fore-front of education and careers, I would love to provide them with the opportunities to not only learn about how it can be incorporated, but also provide my students with a realistic and hands-on approach to discover and explore while learning. In addition, students will also use technology to explore content.

My Project

This project will involve research on the plot of a story and connections to personal life. Students will work together in groups of 4 to explore a story and related it to their personal experiences using the tablets. They will then use information and organized it into a mini movie. As a group students with present their ideas to the whole class groups. Students will be allowed the opportunity to ask questions to one another and review each other's works as if the were completing a literary or gallery review. Not only will this expose students to varied forms technological resources, they will also engage in peer collaboration.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
