Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I have the honor of serving amazing scholars from a variety of backgrounds who absolutely relish reading. However, most are living in under-resourced areas without access to books. Ultimately, I hope to foster a love of reading that carries them through their lives.
Since we are an underserved school, resources are stretched, and unfortunately, we are unable to fund or house a larger library that will reach all readers.
Although we do have a school library, the books cater more to middle school students.

My Project
Help me give my students the greatest chance of competing with their peers by providing them access to rigorous texts by putting books, tablets, a printer and audio versions in their hands. The audio books will serve my English Language Learners and my Special Education students who need more support to reach their potential.
I have the honor of serving amazing scholars from a variety of backgrounds who absolutely relish reading; however, many of them do not access to the kinds of books or the methods of reading that will help them be successful in college.
In order to prepare my students for college, I need to help them be successful in a rigorous AP English class and become informed citizens. My goal is to generate a larger classroom library with high-interest texts that each student can access in a manner that suits them.
Ultimately, I hope to foster a love of reading that carries them through their lives.
