My Students

Open your ears and your eyes and your hearts to some terrific nonfiction books on c.d. ! How wonderful is it to listen to stories and books being read to you by someone else? With the help of these nonfiction books on c.d. students will be able to listen and read along!

My students are wonderful and excited to learn every day they come to school.

They are students of a public diverse elementary school in New Jersey. They come from all different types of households and each brings something unique to the classroom. We learn how to get along and work together as members of a team. They teach me something new every day and I enjoy having the opportunity to work with them.

My Project

My students will love to listen to their books on cd. I plan to use the books and c.d.'s during Daily 5 Centers, in our Listening To Reading Center. Students will be able to listen to nonfiction genres of books about history. This will improve their fluency and comprehension skills. Cross curricular lessons will give the students a real connection to the material being presented to them. My students will enjoy learning about history in a stress free way and will be able to truly grasp the information. They will love learning through listening and reading in small groups.

This project is important for all of the students in my class now and for the students to come.

Materials will be reusable and will help improve student's fluency and comprehension. My students will enjoy reading nonfiction stories about events and people in history. Those students who do not get to listen to reading at home, will be given the chance to listen to books in school, something a student may never forget!

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
