This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
"To read a writer is for me not merely to get an idea of what he says, but to go off with him and travel in his company."
by Andre Gide
The students who attend our school are excited about learning each day!
They come to us from many different types of homes. Some students are living with extended families, single parents, or two parent homes. Most families struggle financially, and are not able to supply school supplies for their students. This makes it difficult to complete projects in the classroom without the help of the community.
My Project
I am requesting fourteen different books to use during our literature circles. Students will participate in literature circles while reading a variety of poetry and fiction books. Students love to read with partners and discuss what they are reading! Students will be able to learn while reading the engaging books. Reading the Magic Tree House books will allow my struggling readers to participate in literature circles with all of their peers. Talking about books brings about great discussions! They love to share what they have learned! This will be possible in literature circles that promote reading in my classroom!
Do you remember the book that sparked a love of reading for you?
Engaging in exciting literature will encourage my students to become better readers and students! My students love to read new and exciting books!
