This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

A perfect way to get students to fall in love with reading is to provide them an opportunity to get lost in a book while "camping" in the classroom. Transforming my room into a wooded forest with lighting, seating, and sounds of the great outdoors. I want to create tents from the tablecloths for students to feel like they are camping in the woods. The lighting with be like fireflies in the night sky as they get lost in a book of their choice. I want them to have an experience to remember as they head off to middle school.

Many of my students have discovered the magic of being transported into a good book this year.

I would like to provide them with a collective experience that will help solidify their love of reading as we prepare for summer break.
