My students need 55 nonfiction books to improve literacy skills and learn about the world around them.

My Students

Our school is faced with many students who come from low-income families and are limited in their experiences. Despite some of the problems and difficulties, many of our students are presented with daily. They still show up to school with a smile on their faces wanting to learn and grow.

My classroom is often the most stable, structured, and happiest place in many of my students' lives.

Together, we create an environment, where we all are encouraged to learn, grow, and be the best we can be. My goal is to provide every opportunity for my first graders to be successful learners.

My Project

My students will be thrilled to have new nonfiction texts available to them! Establishing good readers and instilling a love for reading is one of the many goals I have as an educator and having the right books can help me fulfill this goal. My students will have access to these nonfiction books everyday. The nonfiction books I have requested will enable my students the ability to read to learn, as they discover interesting fun facts about the world around them.

This project will not only impact my students for this school year, but also several years to come.

Having an abundance of books in our classroom library means more reading; more reading means more learning! Please help my students develop their love for reading!
