My students need a karaoke machine with a protection plan so they have the ability to hear themselves read their own writing and the writing of others. We will be able to record each student as they read their writings.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I am a very non-traditional teacher. I tend to think outside the box or classroom. I have a tent in my classroom as my reading center and picnic tables as their desks. I think of innovative ways to keep the students engaged with their own learning.
My students are an eclectic group of young people.
They range anywhere from the analytical thinkers to the ones who have had a rough start in life and haven't learned the basics to learning. My class is beginning to be excited about learning and teaching each other. They come to class expecting to learn and enjoy doing it. They struggle like everyone else when things get challenging, however we take those challenges head on and celebrate the small successes until we master the challenge. We have a great class and continue to enjoy the adventures we are taking together this year.
My Project
The karaoke machine that I am requesting is going to be used for a plethora of different activities. I believe it is very important for a child to hear themselves when they read not only stories but their own writing as well. This machine has the capability of recording my students. They will then be able to take their writing and edit themselves, which is a vital role in the writing process. I have requested a nice machine so the school can also use it throughout the year when we have rallies and outdoor events. It will also be used just as a karaoke machine in my class as I give those students privileges to those who have earned them.
This project will not just benefit the students in my classroom, but all the students at Bullock Elementary.
These students deserve to have an education that is not just rigorous but allows them to express themselves in various ways as well. This karaoke machine gives them an extra way to do just that.
