My Students

My students are thoughtful, witty, and kind. They are sincere learners that are building their knowledge to be ready for the world of the future. My students are creative, insightful, and funny! I teach English 11, Pre-AP English 9, and French 1. I would like to have a greater amount of texts to offer in my classroom library. Some of my students have never had the opportunity to travel outside of our county or state. I have selected a variety of high-interest texts for our students that are varied from books about welding, to local Native American culture, classic fiction, memoirs, and French texts. I am looking to build a greater amount of texts that focus on Montana based narratives and culture. To bring Francophone books to our classroom would be incredibly powerful for developing multicultural awareness, language fluency, and interpersonal communication skills.

My students are curious, bright, and have specific interests that this set of texts will address.

They have great personalities that are earnest, charismatic, and genuine. My students have multiple intelligences and are multitalented.

My Project

Our school has a great library that is having an ever-increasing level of circulation, but as the only French teacher in the school, I keep all of my French texts contained in my room. It would be great to have a shelf of French books for students to browse and read. For my English classes, I want students to be able to see high-interest texts that will appeal to them.

I have built a list to supplement my current classroom library that will bring in a greater variety of narratives.

I am also selecting Native American stories and literature to integrate into our studies of coming of age, American literature, and also to incorporate into my French storytelling lessons. Other underrepresented narratives in my classroom library have also been selected. Also of interest to my students are books about Montana history, and pastimes such as welding, bull riding, and motorsports.
